March 18-23: A Return to Innocence
There is a place within us that remains untouched by what we have endured. A place that still knows how to say yes to life — even after heartbreak, shock, or loss.
In Human Design, this place is known as Gate 25 — the Gate of Innocence. It represents the capacity to remain open‑hearted and loving regardless of life’s circumstances.
In this week’s Inner Alchemy Video we explore the Sun’s Transit into the Gateway of Innocence and the Teachings of the Spring Equinox through Human Design and the Gene Keys. A reflection on how our deepest wounds can become initiations into love, trust, and wholeness.
This video references the teachings of Human Design and the Gene Keys. You are invite to visit their respective sites to create your free birth charts and explore their offerings. We hope you love the exploration of getting to know yourself as much as we have enjoyed (and continue to enjoy) ours.
The path of the Spiritual Warrior
Gate 25 lives in the Center of Self (G), the center of identity, direction, and love. It belongs to the Individual Knowing Circuit and connects to Gate 51 to form what is known as the Channel of Initiation — a pathway that awakens the heart through lived experience rather than theory.
This is the energy of the Spiritual Warrior — not one who battles life, but one who meets every wound with an unconditional yes. It is a quiet courage that does not harden in the face of pain, but remains open, curious, and willing.
The wound as initiation
Gate 25 is often associated with moments of shock — experiences that shake us awake and alter the way we see the world. These moments can feel disorienting or even devastating, yet this gate carries a profound teaching: being wounded by life is not a mistake. It is an initiation.
Each wound invites us beyond the illusion of separation and into a deeper relationship with existence itself. Rather than closing down, Gate 25 asks whether we can stay present — and keep our hearts open — even when it hurts.
Universal love beyond conditions
The love expressed through Gate 25 is not personal, tribal, or conditional. It is universal love — spacious, and inclusive of all of existence. This is not love as emotion, but love as presence. A state of being that does not need life to look a certain way in order to remain open. It is the remembrance that beneath every experience, life itself is trustworthy.
The sacred wound and the flowering heart
In the Gene Keys, Gene Key 25 is known as The Myth of the Sacred Wound. It maps the journey from human pain into divine innocence — not by bypassing suffering, but by allowing it to soften us.
At the shadow level, this key expresses as Constriction — the tightening of the body and heart in response to pain, rooted in the belief that we must protect ourselves from life. Yet the gift of this Gene Key is Acceptance: the ability to stay soft even when it hurts.
This acceptance is not passive resignation. It is an active flowering of the heart that whispers, “This, too, is part of the whole.”
The leap of faith
Gate 25 carries the spirit required to leap into the unknown without a mental agenda, trusting in the inherent goodness of the journey. It invites us to release control and meet life as it is, rather than as we wish it to be.
Traditionally associated with blood and the immune system, this gate speaks to a kind of spiritual blood — a healing essence that restores the soul when we choose openness over defense.
Universal love remembered
At its highest expression, Gate 25 opens into the Siddhi of Universal Love, where the sense of a separate self dissolves and only love remains. In this state, the wound and the healer are revealed to be the same.
Nothing has gone wrong. Nothing has been lost. Innocence was never taken — only forgotten.
A moment of reflection
As you watch the accompanying video and sit with this teaching, you might gently ask yourself:
Where have I closed my heart in order to protect myself from pain?
What would it feel like to meet life again with innocence?
Can I trust that my wounds may also be doorways into love?
Gate 25 reminds us that healing does not come from avoiding pain, but from meeting it with presence — and remembering that love is what we are.
