One of my mentor’s recently shared this acronym and with Halloween right around the corner it feels like the perfect time to bring FEAR front and centre, and really examine what it means. FEAR is energy and this energy is a very strong emotion which if allowed to grow becomes deeply rooted into our very core, and can take control over your life. FEAR has played a significant role in my own life and at times has become so crippling that I couldn’t even leave the house because my body had transformed this trapped energy into physical effects such as a racing heart, sweating hands, and feeling like I was going to pass out. Having these experiences were frightening as I didn’t understand where they were coming from. It was in this confusion that I really started to pay attention to what I was afraid of and question the validity of this FEAR.
When we are born into this world, we enter as pure Spirit and have a totally open heart. There is no fear, because life hasn’t conditioned us. Over time we start to pick up and adopt FEARs from our family members, from our close circle of friends, from society itself. The majority of these FEARs are installed with good intention: “Lock your doors”, “Don’t walk alone”, “Don’t talk to strangers”. Other FEARs are picked up because we learn early on in life from those around us that they are supposed to be scary: “Eek! It’s a spider”, “don’t go out in the dark”, “be afraid of heights”. This energy of FEAR is so strong that generation after generation have been passing the energy down with the best intentions of wanting to protect their loved ones from harm, but with an unintended consequence that FEAR can prevent you from fully living and experiencing life. I know for myself that I have passed along many of my own FEARs to my children, and now have to help support them in working past these conditions, and learn to trust in their own experiences. When you learn to really examine your FEARs and push past them, you will discover that on the other side of this FEAR lies STRENGTH, and that the majority of your FEARs were just False Evidence Appearing Real. This season I invite you to really examine your FEARS and start to question where did this come from? Is it mine, or did it originate with someone else? If it belongs to someone else … maybe its time to let that FEAR go and stop the cycle. Here is a link to one of my favourite motivational speakers: Mel Robbins – Mindset Reset who just happens to have a FREE 35-day coaching program to help move past some of those FEARS. I’ve signed up and hope you’ll join me. Lots of love, Lisa Richard
